I think i found the leak...

 

***.... what caused the failure?

 

was hoping someone else could tell me - tranny fluid all over the place when it came out - so it had fluid in it...

1.6 car with 145k miles on it - stock drivetrain

 

Holy **** son. Did you smash into anything recently?? lol.

 

i didnt hit anything .... bought the car from a guy who decided to sell it because "something went wrong with the tranny"... I've got a 5 speed sitting around from my recent 6-speed swap, so i figured I'd pay the man $1200 and get a running car (price included a mint hardtop)

 

I've just made a 'notable' discovery with regard to the car this tranny came from....

its got an airbag!

 

i seen that! but what does that have to do with the Trans?

i thought the 1.6s came with the driver side airbag. im confused, please excuse my idiotic self

 

the trans would be a totally unrelated issue
