2002 LS Owner, Long Beach MS
Hi, all. My current favorite toy is a 2002 Miata LS in white. Found it in Delaware with 26000 miles on it. After enjoying the car for a year I am looking to bump up the power enough to notice. Former owner of an NSX that was good for 5 sec. 0-60, and I would like to come close to that with the Miata. Most roads around here are straight and flat, so I'm not looking to build a canyon carver, just something with enough power to be really entertaining on on-ramps and in well chosen and conservatively run stop-light challenges. Hence, my interest in miataturbos.net. Having read a number of posts, this seems like one of the most useful resources for achieving my goals in the absence of any local Miata owner's orginization. (Maybe I should start one?) I would enjoy hearing from anyone else in the area...just PM me if you get a second or two.
I have a customer running 12.6 in the quarter mile with an MKTurbo setup.
Spend some time searching and reading build thread. Plan on spending between $3000-$8000 to properly and reliably turbo your miata.

If you don't want to just do the straight line stuff check out NOLA Motorsports Park outside of New Orleans. The 2.75 mile track is pretty fun with a Miata. There are a handful of us that go from Mobile, AL area and from Long Beach you're only 2 hrs.
Been to NMP...just to watch, haven't driven it yet. Does sound like fun. I would have to sink some bucks into suspension and tires if I was going to do any serious road course work. Ever been over to No Problem Raceway...WAY south of NOLA? Fun course but seriously lacking in run-off.
Yeah, I know its a 6-8K deal unless I go home-built...which I am not willing to do due to lack of time and lack of experience.
