The noob hazing used to be a bit more eloquent and purposeful back when I was your age. Now it's just a bunch of noise with no real depth. When I was your age, noobs were hazed in such a way as to not be sure they were being hazed. We left them wondering WTF rather than just being obviously affrontive. We used to try to haze with style and sophistication, with depth and forethought. The trick is to mix enough fact with your fiction to make it somewhat believable (See Joe Perez's trolls). It takes more mental effort but is far more fun and interesting to the rest of us. Otherwise you might as well just fart on your keyboard. I know you can do better.

I get all that. I agree with all of it. Here's the problem: as the noobs get more and more dumb, the hazing gets more and more obvious (and, in a way, dumb). We dumb down the hazing because, well, most would not only not appreciate it, but not even understand it. 5 bux says that most of Joes rants and trolls aren't even understood by these young kids flooding in every day. So its not really hazing, really. They just think he's weird, and don't understand what he's saying.

Anywho, how old do you think I am? Our join dates are very close as well, so when you say "trolling/hazing back in my day" or "when I was your age" I think its cute. *EDIT: actually if you're bored you should search back to some threads from 2008 and prior. The hazing was just as harsh, just not as much profanity.

You whipper snappers and your newfangled computer telephones get me all in a tizzy. Back in my day we hazed by short-wave radio from out back in the radio shack behind the house. And we did it subtly, like when Bill Shakespeare wrote about someone having a "copper ring" in his pants. Or when Mercucio referred to Romeo as "a natural" (a fool) running around looking for a hole to put his bauble into.

I think we should still haze like this because honestly I could care less if other people don't understand if it is hazing or not. It entertains the ones who do and is likely to provide amazing threads when the noobs don't realize its hazing and take the advice at face value.

Now, in 100% honesty, I WOULD tell you to go megasquirt right away, since you obviously need a reliable DD car that doesn't blow the fuck up. However in this case I'm going to say at the very LEST get a wideband 02 gauge to monitor those af/r's so you don't blow your motor. What kind of fuel/timing control did that kit come with?

The fuel and timing my car is using currently are Powercards... One for fuel and one for timing... I know that they are not the best option, but at the time just thought I would see how they do. I can actually say the cards are doing pretty good. I have put about 15,000 miles of rough city/highway miles and my car sounds like it runs better with the S/C than it did stock... lol... anyway reliable so far, but I do want to eventually get MS and a Wideband O2. I actually do have a couple of Qs?????

Welcome aboard, and big ups for valuing interesting cars enough to jeopardize your financial and academic well-being for it. Here I thought I was hard-core for having sports bikes and then a lowish mileage NB while supplementing my transportation needs with the easily-accessible and affordable mass transit system my large metropolitan city provides. It sounds like you're doing it with no such safety net.
