AZ noob intro thread
Hey all, My name is Paul I am 28 years old and live just outside of Tucson, AZ. I am in the Army and love it. I figured I needed to buy and import because I have an asian wife and thats like a law right?....soooooo....
I recently picked up a 91 Miata Limited that my brother (GTRicky) and I went in halves on. We paid $400 it runs great it drives...... well it did until we burned up the clutch but we already ordered the F1 Stage 3 ceramic. We are not going to be driving this car on the street this will be a strictly track only car so everything is being gutted and only the vital retained. Our goal is to have a car with appx 200-250hp with the majority of our money going to suspension and chasis stiffening. We want a car that we can drift. This is our goal. Though we love auto x and drag we want to get into something that is different from our past.
We have been doing alot of research and reading already not only here but other sites as well and simply just absorbing as much info as possible.
should I paint it black and paint the rims green????

Hello!
What's a Miata Limited? Do you mean the British Racing Green "limited" edition?
If you're getting seriously into drift you'll need more power, but that should be a decent starting point.
And as far as color goes, if it's a drift car, do something wild and neon with the colors. Black is too serious of a color for that kind of event.

Sorry I was mocking an earlier noob intro thread that I found entertaining. We actually plan on painting it the most boistrous colors possile like Flo orange with Purple wheels lmao in an attempt to gain as much "street cred" as possible

I might as well weigh in on this since it is also my car.
Paul and I have been around cars our entire life, and I own a 2006 Evo IX boosting 29psi with all sorts of supporting mods. I feel that with 200+rwhp we shouldn't have any trouble getting it sideways as long as we have high entrance speed and don't mind clutch stomping to keep the car in the power band.
Hell, AE-86's get sideways with less power, and Paul and I know how to drive like mad men.
