Default back in the saddle after 20 some odd years

a little over 2 decades ago i learned to drive in my dad's NA8. my pops isn't a car guy... just a normal asian immigrant dad... but when he sold his M-Edition i remember him staring in to the distance with misty eyes.

fast forward a couple of decades and it's time for me to find a car that I can track that I won't be afraid of putting in to a wall. i've been taking my E90 M3 to the track and i had considered the E36 M3 and the venerable big miata (C5 Z06), but a track instructor had convinced me otherwise. the answer is always miata.

i just picked up a brilliant black '99 tonight, but in the short time i've been driving i realized i really missed the feeling of being so connected to a car. i'm going to be tearing out the insides and will have an order in to Moti tomorrow. looking forward to learning from you all.

Welcome to the forum. You have come to the right place with the best resource for knowledge and dark humor.

I think black is one of the best colors for Miata. How about pics?

My friends and I were looking at that exact NB on craigslist, but I guess you got to it first before any of us! Looking forward to see what you do with it.
