Default Checking in from Orange County ca.

Hello everyone. My name is john. I'm 22 and recently purchased my first Miata. A 00 ls trim completely stock. I bought it non-op. P/o said it had a bad head gasket. After replacing the head gasket I quickly learned that the real problem was a crack in the intake port of cylinder no. 2. I picked up a tired 1.8 out of a 99 car. Removed the head, had it surfaced, lapped the valves in and slapped it in the car along with some new arp studs. Now my little red Miata is running like a champ and I've fallen in love with it. I plan on slowly modifying the car to my liking which will likely include a pretty aggressive power plant. I have the short block from the doner engine and plan to fully build it with forged internals/slightly lower compression ratio in preparation for boost. The car is not my daily driver so i have the luxury of tearing it apart whenever I want. I've found that every google search I do leads me here so I've decided to join. I look forward to becoming a part of the community. Thanks in advance for all the help/welcome!

I loves me some red NB1 with little tupperware. Your paint is nicer than mine though.

Read through the stickies in the DIY Turbo section and through a bunch of build threads, but you already sound like you know enough to know what you are doing.

Thanks everyone! I've got a general idea of what to do and how to do it. But it's nice to have you guys for the details. I would be super interested in meeting up with some locals in my area. If anyone is near oc or ie please let me know of any meets or clubs. Thanks!
