Default Coming from the darkside of DSM

Hello, my name is Craig. I recently had an autocross experience in a turbo miata that my buddy Matt built. He is on this forum but I am not sure of his name on here. I think I have caught the Miata bug. I started in Diamond Star Motors and have recently been thinking about getting into something along the lines of a 16g turbo miata. Thanks for having me here, and if you have any questions please feel free to ask!

Here is the video from the AutoX event,
Also...I made this video before i knew that "drifting" was called buttsex on here

Here are my cars past,

I was once part of the dark side. 1G DSM... I put a JDM Cyclone in tharrr.

But that was a good 7 years ago..

Welcome.

BTW there is no cure for the miata bug, so might as well just accept it.

Hello there, I'm also a former dsmer and it is indeed the bright side over here. I changed my miata's timing belt the other day and didn't say "****" once, nor did I leave blood in the engine bay from some part of my arm :-D. Never had that experience on a 1g :P

My wife is attending DLI here. We are originally from the Cleveland Ohio area.

I pretty much learned how to swear from working on a DSM.

Miatas sure look much simpler to work on. The nice part is that they are not all taken up by 16 year old high school kids who hack them up into trash.

DLI seems to attract miata owners or something. I did see a few while I was up there, but geez.

This area seems to draw a few types of cars....BMW's, Porsche, Mini Coopers and Miatas...?

Is there any truth to Miatas being cheaper in California? I have only heard it once but i am here so i might as well keep an eye out. I only have 2500 or so to spend and really that's not even money i actually "have"

Hey I was one of the 16 year olds that hacked my DSM up! But in my defense I bought mine for 500 with a horribly blown engine, so it was pretty damn screwed up when I got it.

Pics ftw...

ONE MORE>>>

Edit.. I will say though, it really wasn't hacked up.. just... a few things didn't go as planned. It was running pretty good after the new engine.

I picked up the white talon fwd for $400 running, it had a t25 on it. Only problem was the transmission wouldn't stay in gear. brought it home and within 20 minuets the car was shifting perfectly. It was missing one of the transmission bolts The next day i had a ported 14b on it ad a 2g manifold and went a 13.9@105

hahah. that really doesn't surprise me with a DSM. The funny thing was when i was buying this car off the guy he was asking 1500$. He told me it was a bad fuel pump... I cranked the engine over.. HAHAHAHAHA... told him 500 or I'm out. The car was in great shape other then that.. and bad wheel bearings.

Welcome aboard.

The real question is whether you're a die-hard or fair-weather member of the Dawg Pound...

I was keeping an eye on this to see who would figure it out first.

If you want to see what I look like with my eyes squinting into the sun and my cheeks stuffed into an open-face helmet, check out the video he posted.
