Default Day 1 Post 1

Nice to be here.
Aurora, Colorado. Stock Red 2000 w/ 200K+ miles.
Bought from brother-in-law for daughters (home from college) 1st get down the road car. One instruction, check the oil ever time you fill it up.
Have you been checking the oil? "No." Well you better check the oil. 1 week later, Saturday, "Mom, dad, I need to talk to you..."
You owe me an engine or you owe me a car. (Moves out 3 days later.)
Making room in garage for motor rebuild, if the block isn't destroyed.

1st question would be what basic low cost upgrades should I do at the same time as rebuilding the motor?
I am already thinking cooling system and maybe fuel/ECU.

Thanks! Charlie

bushings & motor mounts
shocks
good alignment
put in a clutch capable of holding the same power levels as whatever rods you put in the block

go as far down the rabbit hole as desired...
