Hi all, the names Savage, and i'm the new buck that loves Miata's and joined to learn as much as I can. I've only owned 1 in my life, and it only lasted for 2 months before the pistons snapped (rebuilt engine) - but in those 2 months I fell in love with the car and i'm dead-set on buying a new one and making it my daily driver.
I'm 19, and ignorant to the subject of cars as well as being well aware that Miatas are for the "Guy going through a Mid-Life Crisis". I call that a bunch of BS and I'd like to use this website to chronicle the growth of the Miata i choose to go with. So I guess i'll start my first question off -

What's the difference between NB/NA/NC?...I see it used quite frequently all over.

Nice to meet you. You'll fit in much better here if you don't ask such trivial questions and search for your answers first.

But if you must know, get a 1.8L NA or an NB. I happen to like the 2001-05 VVT motor the most

 

This is a common problem with the NAs. I'd recommend buying an NB for this reason.

NA-NB-NC----Those are the three different bodystyle generations of Miatas. Consult wikipedia for details on developmental changes throughout the years.

Always search first before asking questions that might have been answered previously or the natives get a little testy. We also have an FAQ here that is pretty good.
