Default Father with one son still on board

Hello from Rhode Island. Long time lurker, 4 plus years. We've had our 91 na for 14 years, took over care for my father's childhood friend the Thai chi master who now lives in Spain (his brother bought it for his own wife new in 90). My background with car s started with a mk1 84 rabbit gti at 16. This led to motor swaps and eventually jobs at vw/audi dealers around the country. Learned to deal with composites (carbon fiber, Kevlar, glass etc..) when my children started to sail competitively. Trained by my father as a cabinet maker also. Enough about me lol. My son and I are now going to build the miata. I have tried to skim the best advice over the years for a dependable turbo build from the forum. Thanks to all who blazed these trails before us. So far Kraken manifold and outlet and downpipe. Rebuilt and balanced t25 garret. Block honed, new rings, bearings and forged rods. Flow force 640cc injectors, walbro 200. Jdm 1.6 mk2.5 intake and throttle body. Ms3 kit with expansion board. Yet to order plugs from Ballinger and harness from dyi. Son (16) ported and polished head and intake btw, we will see how that goes. Nb rear subframe for increased track and also because I got a 2.5 fm exhaust for $50. It's nb. Torsen 4.3 ( waiting to find 3.9) with axles etc. Much more stuff, how are we doing so far? Thanks again guys for som bad$$$ ideas and inspiration.

Welcome. Of course, you should have swapped in a 1.8; but I'm sure you had your reasons for staying 1.6.

What are your use plans for the car? Will you have any emission issues in RI, or is the car old enough to not matter?

Copy that on the 1.8. One reason is my kid is 16 and already has a forester xt manual that too fast. 5.3 to 60. Just trying to make the miata more drivable is all maybe an occasional track day at Thompson speedway in Connecticut. No emissions issue in ri as it's registered an antique. Doing sequential injection, ls coils from Nigel, fm crank trigger wheel and staying with Cas. Coolant reroute bought,, waiting on radiator. I've driven one with 202 rwhp its plenty for around tiny ri. Maybe a 1.8 in the future, have a 99 in my garage with 70k on it from rolled brg. Thanks for responding and the welcome sir.
