Default Fresh start

Seems that I started my first step in this forum in a pile of ****. Hoping my next step will be on clean dry land.

I started out my hot rodding with the V8 stuff, but never could get over how fun a miata felt on the road, even when it was not as fast as the other cars I had. I have owned a miata since 1990, The second and current car I have had since new in 95. It sat idle for a long time, while I was playing with the 'big' cars, but I am bringin her back to life.

Because I have experience with nitrous, I started to build a car that will have it. It currently is normaly aspirated, but I should be spraying soon. Pretty fast in the current state. It runs high thirteens with a ported 95 cyl head, JE 11:1's, and 45DCOE Weber carbs. Since then I have added skinnies (wheel and tire), electric water pump, and about to install a 99 cyl head with big valves and springs. Because of budget constraints, I will put the same mild Web cam that I had on the 95 head. My goal is 12's on the motor. I think it will be real close when it is together.

If I were to guess what kind of power it had, I would say between 175 and 185 hp. It may not seem like a lot of power, but a lot of work and money went into it to make the car perform well on the track.

It has lots of other mods, but I will spare you the details until another time. I will post pics soon. I have some somewhere on a disc.

The car has not been running for a while, but I am feverishly working on it now.

Seems like there is a lot of experience and knowlege on this forum. I have learned a lot by just reading threads. The most important lesson I have learned so far is to speak very carefully.

I was hoping I was not the only N/A around here. I started to put the new head on last night. I should be running today if all goes well.
