What the **** is a swaggot? I can figure out the derivation of the second half of the word... but I must be out of the loop on who the insult is directed at.

The owner of each and every one of these cars is a swaggot.

Got it! One of the stupidest trends is slammed to the ground with intentionally horrible alignment / camber... only thing worse is a 185/60/15 on a 15 x 10 rim... then put them together and what do you got? Swaggots!

It's because they're swagging when they should be yoloing.

[QUOTE=zoomazoomzoom;1125529]You got took... but you already know so I won't rub it in (much)...

Yes, I know. I guess I'm getting softer the longer I've been out of the military (a good thing). I just hope the little stooge is using the money on diapers and not some swagged out VW wagon or something. Probably wishful thinking.

I'm already learning so much from you guys! I guess I never really said what my goals for the actual turbo setup are. The car is my DD, so I'm actually going to go with something relatively mild (around 150 or so RWHP should be plenty). I have plenty of mechanical ability, but I'm going to go with a fairly simple setup. I'm not concerned with pinching every penny on this one (no ebay stuff). Unless there is a very good reason not to, I'll most likely use the FM voodoo II kit and upgrade flywheel and clutch with the happy meal, but those upgrades will happen only after the suspension upgrades etc. Suggestions? Kill myself?

For a goal of 150rwhp, you don't turbo.

You do a VVT swap and go from there.

You just blew my mind all over my face. Hadn't considered that before. So many new threads to read...

@Monk

If I were you I would revise that goal to 190-200 range and .... run bandaids like a BEGI or Vortech FMU and a MSD boot retard box both of which although they have limits are a cheap and easy way to get just under 200 hp safely.

In my haste I purchased a MSD Miata box before I realized I wanted more power and needed MegaSquirt. I am planning to use the boost retard box on my Altima combined with a FMU when I turbo it. I will run bandaids and only 6 psi cause its my daily. Its 160 hp stock I should be able to reach 230-240 hp on 6 psi and not loose any driveability.

Since I'm not autocrossing it, I figure 60 HP over stock is plenty to give her a good nudge coming out of the turns. I have a ranger with a built 5.0 for going fast in a straight line.

If you do a VVT swap + intake/headers/exhaust and megasquirt, you will not only get your 150RWHP goal, but you will make it easy to increase that number with a turbo down the road if you decide that 150 isn't enough (it's never enough). Bandaids won't have that option.

It's not that the past was sooooo bad. It's that the stuff in the past was used because there weren't other options. There are today. There's no reason to willingly choose the **** option.

Methinks the lady wouldst not protest so much if the lady was aware of the horrible band-aids my fastest car runs. Doesn't mean i'm going to recommend someone ELSE do it.

Good advice. I'm trying to find some good threads about the swap now. I like the idea of having 150RWHP as a baseline.
