Default Hello From Alabama

Hey guys I thought I should put a post on here to say hey to everyone. I have a 1992 miata with about everything on it's new but the engine. I painted it base-coat clear-coat red, replaced all the rubbers, new tires, and a lot more. Planning on adding one of the begi kits to my 1.6l miata. Any pointers. Really looking into the china turbo kit they offer. Also been looking at the greddy kit but I have heard the only thing in it hats good is the turbo.

Welcome.

If you're going to turbo your car, you better start reading. The Begi S kit with the china turbo sounds like a good deal to me.

Please post your location below your Avatar. I think we have some forum members from Alabama.

If you are going used and want a cheap $700 dollar kit. The Greddy is fine. It is a drastic differance. If you are going new, or want to upgrade things, I would just start begi and get the divorced downpipe option.

Greetings
Todd

Welcome.

You will like the BEGi parts, nothing but quality. The kit I'm running is 14yrs old and on it's second car. Everything still fit perfectly during install, and it builds 10psi without a problem at all. Great people to work with as well.

Kits are nice since you won't lose boatloads rounding up all the small parts. Now is a good time to decide what not only your immediate goals, but your long term goals are. This will dictate how much of an upgrade path you need. Scratch that...you WILL need an upgrade path, everyone eventually wants more power. In that case go with the BEGi. I think upgrading the Greddy can get expensive, although both would make giant leaps with proper engine management and an intercooler.

On engine management...READ UP. Decide what you want to do, and get started on that first (unless you're ordering from BEGi, in which case put in order first, and kit should arrive by the time you've got MegaSquirt sorted out. Oops...did I say MegaSquirt...yep, it's pretty much the ONLY way to go.

Do you like your greddy kit or your begi kit better? Are they about the same hp?

You might see more if you filled in your location in your profile like you were told in post#2 so locals can make contact with you.
A signature couldn't hurt you either... but I think you've been told that before too.
