Default hello eh

hey there. Daniel from Ontario, Canada here.

I'm not new to cars, or forums. Am new to miatas though, I just bought a $1000 1990 NA that I am going to try my hand at drifting with. A turbo kit will be happening sometime in the future but for now I'll leave it N/A. I've already got a megasquirt and ITB's on it (still need to do some more cold start tuning).

I took some pictures last night but my droid has decided it won't talk to my computer today so I'll have to post them up later.

Other cars I've owned in the past (or own now) include a '92 R32 GTR, MANY rx-7's, an Eunos Cosmo 20b, porsche 944's, several DSM's and an '02 WRX wagon.

I've ran the 24 hours of LeMons in a 1995 Dodge Stratus twice, and plan on running a few chumpcar events this year as well.

Well that's enough I suppose. Hi everybody!

Damnit, stop with the ITBs.

You are much more awesome than me though because you did a Lemons and chumpcars.

How did you like those experiences? I would love to do one of those races.

Welcome to the forums!

FYI you can actually use the browser on the Droid to upload pictures using the attachment button on this site. It worked on my Captivate.

Question: Why pick the Miata for drifting? Everything I've heard about it is that it's difficult to drift due to the short wheelbase.

You should post pictures of those other sexy cars you've owned.

Bro, with enough power, you can keep that car as sidewayz as your flat-brimmed DC hat.

Everyone and their brother has told me that they are hard to drift. Honestly I don't think they can be that bad, there's a whole forum dedicated to drifting them. I don't have much practice yet. I picked a miata because I wanted a convertable, and when you look at the cars on paper a miata has to be better than a 240 or any of the other options.

Anyways, even if it is hard, I like a challenge, and the miata is a blast to drive.

Even at the stock power level - plenty of people drift 240's and AE86's and both have a worse power to weight ratio than a stock miata.

Here's some pics of my miata:

I know the ITB's need filters. I did not make the ITB setup and I don't have the stock parts to make them go away. I'm completely sure they suck in dirt/rocks/snow/small animals 100% of the time. Please do not lecture me on them being shitty, I'm well aware of it.

Lemons has gone downhill lately. Last race we were in we spent 4 hours parked in the penalty box because someone ran into us when their brakes failed. It was super fun.

First lemons race we went to was a real 24 hour overnight event. It was super hard and super amazing. I had so much fun.

if anyone really wants pics of my other cars I can post them up.

Rip those ITBs off and sell them to some **** on CR.net to fund your turbo build. $1k for that rolling coffin seems like an OK deal. Be sure to get a chrome roll bar and get banned from this thread like I did.
