Default Hello everyone one more noob for y'all

Hello all, name is Chris im a 23 year old from Orange County, Ca im currently attending school for welding and love spending my time and money learning about or working on cars but am by no means a professional or hell even half way decent but I really enjoy this and love learning about miatas, and everything that makes a turbo tick and go CHOO CHOO!

Ive been a lurker on this forum for a while now but I decided I need to get involved in this great community instead of hiding in the shadows especially seeing as how much valuable information and intelligent individuals there are here and all you gotta do is search the forums or ask someone a well pointed question!

( ill really try not to ask any questions that are idiotic or already answered hehe)

I'm amazed at all information that is compiled here for free!

Well I'm not very good at intros but its very nice to be here and nice to formally introduce myself to this community.

I guess I should tell everyone about my car so far then I've got a 1994 Miata that i bought for 1200 with the hopes of turbocharging it (of course) and have gotten pretty far into the whole build which is another main reason for me coming out of hiding and into the scene.

I've been taking my build somewhat slow I'm about a month and a half into it all and am loving learning and fabricating my own turbo set up

unfortunately I work one job full time and another part time and have a girlfriend so I've got limited sunlight and time to work on my car haha.

So far I've got my turbo all hooked up all oil, coolant, sensors, lines are all setup

As of right now I'm just trying to get my base map all setup so that I can start the car and begin the whole tuning process( which I am completely new to and having a tougher time grasping)

Anyways ill post some pictures of my build so people can get a feel for my car and me.

Please guys feel free to bash me or give me any pointers on my setup as I'm sure a lot of you know better than I do by now but I'm here trying to figure it all out and keep on progressing!

Thanks a lot everyone and I really look forward to talking and being part of this community!

And I know the welds on the downpipe are ugly but it was my first time using flux core for welding

Welcome to the forum, Chris. I'm glad you've discovered the great volume of information that is contained here.

The build threads and the sticky threads are a wonderful place to see the progression of builds and where things go well or go very wrong. Learning from the experiences of others is a valuable tool.

I didn't think you could get away with such an obvious intercooler setup in parts of California. It's pretty darn shiny.

Not sure how I'm trollin but once I reread it I realized how bad it looked, well can only get better from here right. As for the intercooler yea I'll have to do something about that...still a lot of learning to do.

I tried to organize your ideas a little by just adding space since there was some missing punctuation. I didn't want to change anything you actually said. But it really was a "wall of text", lol.

No worries. Welcome to the forum.
