Default Hello from the Granite State!

Hello,

I'm a short time lurker and figured I'd join given my new found interest in these cars.

I used to own a '93 Firebird LT1 years ago(minor mods, auto, 13.6 on street tires best ET), then '98 Honda Accord(no, not modded), then '00 Audi A6t 6spd.(not modded, but very nice - 'till you have to fix stuff), and now a 2005 Outback XT 5spd.(still trying to decide if it's going to be getting any mods or not).

Honestly, I never even considered a Miata for myself until now(always thought of them as kind of a mid-life-crisis car I guess -though I know better now ). Recently I've been getting more and more interested in getting into HPDE and auto-X.

In researching various cars, I've been finding that I'm not sure I want to go the pony car route again. The Formula I had was quick, but heavy and drove like it. Lately I've been wondering about smaller lighter cars instead and the Miatas seem to be reasonably priced as well and now with the great turbo options no longer under-powered. I like the V8 swaps as well, but judging by all the ones I've read about it's neither straight-forward nor reasonably priced unless you can do ALL the fab work yourself.

Anyway, this probably won't be happening for quite a while for me, but I look forward to reading as much as I can here and who knows, maybe I'll even have a useful thing or two to contribute.

Regards,

-Sean
