Default Hello! New miata owner looking for advice

Hello,

I am 24 years old and a military member. I own an FRS but am hoping it'll sell in the next two weeks. Currently stationed in Utah. Ogden/SLC area. I bought an 06 tacoma and a miata so I can have a project car and a fun autox/canyon car.

My miata is a 1995 miata that I paid 1700 for. It is red, new top, torsen LSD. It has 142k miles and wonky compression numbers. #1 130 #2 110 #3 130 #4 155

I have owned the car for 3 days and today I pulled a motor from a 95 miata in a junk yard that had 212k miles and turns freely by hand. The car had no battery so I couldnt start it or compression test it. I paid $195 for the motor.

I am hoping to rebuild the motor and do a cheap turbo build.

I am happy to be here.

I don't, I get pretty good deals on parts. I'll let you know when i find a good tuner. The last tune I had caused to much detonation and burned 2 pistons. It was done by fnp. They did wonders for my buddies subie, not so much for my miata

Do yourself a favor and go to 949racing.com instead of fab9. If you don't yet know why, search for them on a few threads here.

No. You covered it when you said you are finding a new tuner.
