Hello! Newbie here
Hello all, I bought my 96 in November last year and love it, I just recently bought an mspnp2 for it and I'm hoping to own a 300whp Miata in the near future. Thanks for letting me join this community, and I hope to spread what knowledge I have to others as best as i can.
She's a 96 with a 1.8L, 6 speed swap from an 01 and I believe it's the 4.10 torsen. My plans right now are to get it tuned and running smoothly, fix some of the body panels and rust on the passenger rocker, and drivers rear panel as you can see . Future plans of a small turbo I want to try for 300whp which may end up for a motor swap, but I'm not 100% sure yet, I'd just go with the vvt out of an nb.
Welcome.
I personally would have bought a cleaner car if i was planning to dump $6-8000 into the car (thats what it takes to have a reliable 300 hp car).
now you need to add $2000 into body work and paint, in addition to the above turbo/performance stuff.

I only have 2k in the car, and 1.5k in current mode, including tires and drivetrain, I could get a cxracing turbo kit and run that, I'm implying 300whp on a next car or once I get a second car to daily when that time comes. I don't plan to put 8k into this miata lol
What you should do is just drive that and stay no turbo. Then build turbo k series to do the kmiata swap down the road. Then when the motor is done sell your na and get a nb to swap into. Then enjoy all the big horsepowers
He says don't because we've seen one attempted that stuck 4 inches out of the hood and involved cutting the firewall and the radiator had to be moved forward by cutting out the crossmember. But engine is not only too long but too tall for a decent fit. And it is stupid heavy. Much better choices out there for an engine swap.
I was only going cxracing for the turbo, piping. Etc planned on having a manifold fabbed up at a local shop cause I hear theirs suck. Also about the 1j I am not 100% set on it, I just think an I6 or V6 would be a cool swap. Possibly a better power to weight ratio idk

Correct
Lol i know i am a noob, i didn't need confirmation but thanks. I don't have any set in stone plans, I know i eventually want boost and/or a V6-I6 swap. I would want it to be a reliable car obviously. I don't know I do know i have some questions about tuning AE, in which i do have a thread about lol and that info for the time being would be helpful lol.
