Default Hello from PNW

Hello fellow Miata enthusiasts,

I'm Brenden and I have had my 2000 Miata for a little over 2 yrs. I'm 48 and have some issues with projects, always have a few too many. I got my Miata so that I could drive it back and
fourth to work, about 4 miles, and to have a toy to Autocross/Trackday. I've worked on Cars, Trucks, and Airplanes for 30 Plus years. But this is going to be my first experience with Turboing
a car that wasn't a factory turbo and tuning ECU's.

I have been researching this site and some others for a couple years. I have my copy of Corky's book.

In preparation of going turbo I have Installed a new FM stage 1 Clutch, supermiata crossflow radiator, coolant reroute, Roll Bar, Fox Coil overs, MS3pro PNP, LC-2 WB, and Perfect tuning guage. I have been doing some tuning on stock motor and the car seems to be running well, but I'm defiantly going to have some questions. I have acquired injectors but have not installed them yet. Also I have a second motor to build with forged rods, pistons Etc,Etc.. I have a 6 speed and 3.9 torsen and also have a 3.3 R&P. For future needs.

I'm patiently waiting for my TSE EFR 6258 setup to arrive.

I'm looking forward to meeting some of the PDX area turbo folks and maybe getting a ride in a Turbo'd Miata.

Thanks for listening to my banter.

Brenden

Welcome to the forum! I'd be happy to give you a ride, but weather and work obligations make that a little tricky this time of year.

Are you planning to install the turbo prior to swapping in your built motor? What's your projected timeline for everything?

Thanks for the replies. Yes I plan to install turbo on stock motor first. Time line for that is to start install when TSE parts show up. Hopefully that will be soon.

Built motor will follow, I have not disassembled second motor yet to see how it looks inside to get an Idea of overbore and bearings. I need to find a local machine shop
that knows Miatas. Then I can get my parts list in order.

This is false. There's a small batch of fresh manifolds waiting for me at UPS right now, actually, and the MFG sent photos of another small batch in progress at the foundry.
