Hey guys, just thought I would introduce myself after a bit of lurking. I plan on purchasing a Miata next month and turbocharging it. I'm 18 (19 on Wednesday, the 4th) and currently studying Computer Engineering at the local college. I've done quite a bit of wrenching despite my age; my dad started me young (he was a mechanic for quite a long time). Looking to pick up a 94-97 Miata as it has grown on me the most, though a 99 or 00 wouldn't be bad either.

Since I don't currently own a Miata, I decided that I could post some pictures of the Mazda 6 I owned. It's a 2004 6s (3.0L) and it was a blast to drive. Just recently sold it to my brother for $3500 and his Honda Civic (2003, stock) which has a nice resale value (6-7k) as well. Looking to trade it in during June and starting my project before classes start again in the fall.




I certainly kept that thing clean, but it was just becoming a pain to work on. A radiator swap took me 9 hours, hands down the longest a radiator job has taken me. I did a radiator swap on my uncle's 94 Miata that didn't take even close to that long. The water pump on the 6 also took a few hours, as well as the valve cover gaskets since half the engine is retarded-hard to get to (FWD V6).

Anyways, that's just a bit about me. I'm looking forward to my Miata project

I actually live in Brandon, but figured at least Tampa is recognizable. The biggest intersection I live by is Bloomingdale and 301. What about yourself?

Howdy and Welcome! Nice to see another Sunshine stater in the midst. I like the old 6S you had. Although I'm partial to white Mazdas.. I own two. I have a 2006 Mazdaspeed6 as a daily in white water pearl. And of course the reason I'm here my miata.

There is a pretty good group up in the Tampa area for miatas. Though they tend to be on the older side. We also have a group that meets down here in Sarasota on Tuesday nights if you don't mind the drive. I think we are more your kind of people. So if you ever want to talk shop let me know and I'll give you directions.

That is a very slick MS6! I've always been fond of Mazda's white color, followed by the blue. And yeah, based off the TampaBayMiata chatter it seems to be on the older side, but I wouldn't mind going to the Sarasota meet every once and a while. Like I said, I probably won't get a Miata til around June or so, but probably the first half or so. One of my uncles lives right off Bee Ridge Road so it's about an hour drive from here in Brandon, maybe an hour and a half.
