Hi from Chicago
My name's Mike, just a broke college student here, I'll be graduating next year.
I picked up a '95 Miata earlier this year. I'm hoping to do suspension this spring then hopefully turbo later on. So I will be lurking here and soaking up the info.
Here's my other car, I use it mostly in the winter now or when I need to transport something, it has a bunch of room when you fold down the seats.

Done and done. I'm on the northwest side. For now the car is pretty much stock. Over the winter I plan to do FM springs/tokicos, and if a good deal pops up 15" rims and tires. Then after that I want to go the turbo route.
Do you autox? If you do are you attending the ones on 10/12 and 10/18 at Maywood park? I should be off these damn crutches by then.

Cool man! No,I don't autox,I do like to watch though. I may have to check that out. I didn't even know there was one around here.
My miata doesn't know what it wants to be yet. It's pretty stock looking except for the rims on the outside. Inside it's got a built motor, built head and a big turbo. I was trying to see how much power I could squeeze out of it but it needs a lot of work. I guess it's more of a drag car but I haven't had it to the track or dyno yet to get any numbers. I'm an old gearhead trying something new!
Mabey it will end up somewhere in the middle, a cool street car. Who knows?

Some of the events are hosted by the windy city miata club http://www.windycitymiataclub.com/autox/ So you can expect a big number of Miatas
Biggest decision for me is going to be which turbo to go with. I'm thinking of a picking up a used T25 and having a quick spool and they don't cost much. But I kind of have feeling once I the turbo bug bites me, I'll be itching for more power if anything I can always upgrade later. Then of course I'll need to buy a manifold, megasquirt, injectors, fuel pump, intercooler, WI, oil lines..etc.
Should be a fun project
