Hello Everyone,

I just thought I'd drop a few lines to introduce myself.

So here am I - a 30 year old dude from Germany, who lives in Stuttgart and after studiing Mechenical Engineering now works in the automotive industry.

When I bought my 1992 Miata in 2001, it was bone stock. If you want, you can dig through the various build states by visiting my cardomain page: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2171053

To sum it up with just a few words: FMII setup installed in 2006 after major engine rebuild with stronger internals, IC setup by Trackdog Racing, Fuel managed by the Link ECU. Handling is enhanced by a KW coilover and FM sways. Braking is left to the Goodwin 4 wheel big brake kit and wheels are a little oversized with 17" at the moment.

It seems to me that this car is no longer suited for daily driving, but rather to be used as a trackday toy. It's a lot of fun to drive it really fast, but sticking to the street law makes it feel a little bumpy and so. I hope I can express this properly - when you throw it from one turn into the next it feels great, but if you use it for everyday hauling it lacks the smoothness and feels a little stiff-necked ;-)

Anyway, I want to keep it and get the most out of the parts that are installed! Also, there are some minor upgrades, that I still want to perform: coolant reroute and improve cooling in general and dual feed fuel rail, to mention just two.

Nice ride. You might wanna think twice about the coolant reroute. I've heard the heater sucks afterward.

Thanks guys! Todd, thanks for pointing out the heating issues related to the Coolant Reroute. I might re-consider this, but my cooling really suicks at the moment during hot weather Track Days!

Willkommen! I'm living in Germany right now, there's a few other people here from around the country and the rest of Europe as well. I was actually in Stuttgart just a little while back for the Volksfest and the Porsche and Mercedes museums, loved the city. Ever have any big projects going on you need/want help with shoot me a PM.

 

I've got no problems with my coolant reroute and my heater. I'm using the M-tuned reroute.

 

Yeah, the Museums are pretty much a must see aside from the Volksfest ;-) Thanks for the offer with big projects, I am sure there will be opportunities! Did you bring your Miata to Germany?

 

I also have no issues with my M-Tuned reroute.

 

Sore subject. I'll be picking one up here though, either that or buying a Classic Mini and doing a m4d tYte VTAK swap (flame away, but those swapped mini's are beast.) Either way, if you got any exciting track days or what not planned, let me know about that too, I can at least come be a spectator

Very cool. I was just over in Stuttgart as well. Family (in Feuerbach) and friends (Echterdingen) live there. What part of Stuttgart are you from?

 

Uups, sorry ;-) Never heard about this swap, but classic Minis are really cool! We have one here at work that looks and sounds so great! If you are interested in a Miata, one of my friends is selling his (close to) stock NA, which is very well maintained, has a rather low mileage. It's not the cheapest (he is asking 3,7k€ at the moment) but it might be a good starting point. As far as Trackdays and Events, I'll keep you posted. Just went to a Drift-Event last week and had a problem with my IAT-sensor *suck*
