Hi, name's Kevin, and I only go full retard.
Figured I would go ahead and drop this one in the new-members arena before I start asking the questions that puts my sanity in question. Purchased on 01 6 speed Miata back in September 16' and starting to plan ahead for this build now that I am getting near the end of building up my daily.
General outline: Track car wrapped a suit. A tie-dye suit.
Before I continue, yes, I fully understand what I want to do is 100% in the realm of one-off custom fabrication, creative swearing, and throwing toolboxes across the garage level of frustration. This car will be done in stages. No time frame is expressed or implied. There is no money back guarantee.
Now, my plan, is to build a turbo 20b Miata. And yes, I can hear the exasperated sighs and groaning already. Controlled my Megasquirt, suspended by Bilstein AS2's, wrapped in Alcantara and carbon fiber, rolling on TE37's (and a set of 6UL's wrapped in really sticky rubber), while chugging down the finest in gas-pump ethanol. It will be the finest Miata to sell for 10% of it's parts value should I let it go.
So, who's up for the decade long build thread and eventual burn-out, and possibly, burning down a car?

Rotaries are small, light, and make decent power.
Plus they sound amazing.
Yes, there are more reliable options, but not everyone tracks their car.
Edit* nevermind, I had the rotaries swapped in my imagination.
20B will definitely be a fairly difficult swap.
