Is this supposed to be funny? Have you ever joined a forum before and started out with a thread like this? How did it go that time?

Stop giving guys named Sam a bad name. Ask a moderator to delete this thread and start a new one that doesn't suck.

well, all right then. I'll take it seriously. And seriously, I don't know squat about turbos; I want to learn. the 10AE is my 5th Miata, and I want a touch more power (yeah, yeah; that's what they all say, I know.....) So, what better place than here? I've been lurking for quite a while, seemed like a good time to speak up, ask a question or six.

One's "stranded" on a floating island, not getting laid and the other is (as evidenced from previous posts) passive aggressive and most likely the result of a broken home...

No kidding, learn to capitalize your name, newb. Sheesh.

Also, start reading things in the useful saved posts section before asking lame questions.

See, they are all teddy bears.

Welcome to the forum. You will have fun here if you don't take the ribbing to heart.

Good luck.

Welcome aboard.

Please state your goals.

You should read braineack's FAQs (they helped me understand many things when I started).

FWIW; I'm proof positive that any dumbass can do it. I've got a built and boosted engine that's working like a charm. I have to say I couldn't have gotten this far without the knowledge in this board.

maybe I'll change my name to clueless.

I've read lots of the FAQs, there's good stuff here as well as entertainment.

goals; maybe 20% boost in midrange & top end, while staying pretty fuss-free. Essentially replicate the MSM. Not radical, just, well, the power it SHOULD have out of the box.

You want a BEGi S1 w/GT2554 and a Zoom3, 2.5" exhaust.
It's gonna be more like 50% more power at around 7-8psi... trust me, that's what it should have come with.

well, thanks! I do trust you, actually.

I also should add that I want to learn more in general about turbos and manufacturing power, just out of intellectual curiosity.
