Default Introduction

Hey all - figured I would post up a quick introduction. I picked up a really clean 91 Miata a few months ago and have been having a riot with the car, its the most balanced car I've ever driven!

I've been into cars for quite a long time, and am not afraid to get in and get dirty. I've rebuilt a 4A-GE from a Mk1 MR2, restored an 89 BMW 325is from junk car that sat in a field and had a ton of different "fun" cars from a C4 Corvette, Audi A4, couple BMWs, two MR2s, and even a couple motorcycles thrown in there.

I am really looking forward to doing a DIY turbo set up on the Miata, I've always wanted to turbocharge a car and was really close to starting a build on the E30...but I drove a Miata and was instantly hooked. Sold the E30 and bought a Miata.

So far I've gone through and done all the basic maintenance, installed a larger front sway bar, Eibach springs, and Bilstien dampers. Just bought a Hard Dog hardcore rollbar and will be installing it next week.

My goals for turbo-charging are pretty modest, 150-160 reliable rwhp. Anyways I'll be lurking around and reading as much as possible. Cheers!

I had a 85 MR2 my 1st really "good" car. Had a lot of shitboxes before that. Got it in 88 with 15K on it and sold it in 1992 with 190K on it. Changed one clutch and nothing else except maybe 10-12 alternators, they sucked ballz! Got really good at changing them, used to keep a new on in the trunk for changes on the go...
Loved that car.

As far as turbo kits you can start with a Greddy, or a Begi S. That would get you close to your goal, and then diy the rest once the turbo bug bites. You can make a lot more power than that reliably.
