Miata and 87 Supra owner, Hello!
Hey guy's,
I would like to just introduce myself, here. I've been in the car scene since about 2002 and got my first ride back in 2004. I was in the scene for a while but slowly lost interest when I went to college and for the first few years of my working life. I'm now back into it , and have always loved miata's and there potential. When I was in high school I volunteered at my local race track as a flag man, and always noticed the miata's at the track. I decided to purchase one a couple years ago and hope to keep it forever. I recently did an entire paint job (myself) including body work on both my 99' miata and 87' supra (2JZGE-T swap). My mission is to successfully install and tune a MS3x or PnP into my miata so that I can learn and gain knowledge. I'm going to be reading up a lot on these boards! Once I get it down, I want to install and wire a megasquirt to run my 87' supra because it doesn't like to run for more than a minute right now (I am pretty sure installing a standalone will solve it). My old supra is still running MAF and (who knows) there may be a vacuum leak, throttle body issue, or idle air control issue that's causing it to die after it idle's for a bit. I'm hoping the knowledge I gain from megasquirting my miata will translate into being able to get my supra also running fine one day. I hope to keep both of these cars forever, and I'm excited to read up on some threads here. Thanks!
