Hi all,
I've worked on plenty of miatas before, mostly 90-97's but have never owned one till now. It's a 1997 miata, red with 197,000 miles. I picked it up from an mx3 guy who has more interest in his 2 mx3's. Its a really fun car to drive. I just need to give it some TLC, given the high mileage.
I already have a plan, which will start with an overhaul of the suspension/wheel/brakes. Nothing too radical, but better than stock since it will be a daily driver.
After I get that taken care of, I will get the MSPNP for my year and give it a good tune for n/a.
Next will be to turbocharge it. I have a precision turbo gt3251b(.48 a/r, .70 a/r) that is coming off my mx6 along with my brother's PTE intercooler off his turbo BP mx3. Plus all the turbo goodies that come with it.
My goal is to have 200-250hp with around 10-12 psi of boost. I want a fun car to drive.

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you know what you're doing and have a well thought out plan.
Please post your location below your Avatar so other Tx members can assist you.
Some pics of your car would be nice.
BTW, I'd overhaul the engine before going turbo (197,000 miles are too many miles no matter what car).

+1 to Rafa's comments.
- Rebuild the block
- Get the control bits together before building power
- Have fun!
But you really do need to let us know where in Texas you're located...

I live in San Antonio, TX.
I plan on buying another BP engine and rebuilding it with stock parts. I want to use this high mileage motor as a test engine for my tuning, so that when it breaks I got another one ready to put in. It will be done before I go turbo.
My FE3 turbo mx6 has a rebuilt engine using stock parts and it's holding well making 265hp, 290ft/tq @15psi, so I have faith in a rebuilt BP making less power. But a rebuilt engine is definitely in my plan.
Thanks for the welcome guys.

Hey man, I had a really good time with you the other night at Oil Can. I've never had such an erotic experience with a leather-daddy before. Its rare that I find a filthy pig who loves to play in **** and **** like you.

That means you've actually mentally processed nearly 3,000 excerpts of this faggety ****.
One day it's going to get to you, and you're going to start following this Buttsex Bible you've created.

When I see your post count, it really hurts to think that atleast 30% of those 9,000+ are like this.

Putting your car(s) in your signature helps as well.
