Default New to the Club!

Just recently bought an 04 MSM with only 54k!

Gonna keep it clean and stock for the most part(Daily/College Car) Near future plans are Catless downpipe, straight pipe, and tune. Any good places in Texas for those kind of mods?

So happy to finally join the family!

Texas is a big place. Care to be more specific?

This forum is very DIY, BTW.

Welcome man, congrats on the MSM purchase. With very loooow miles from what I've seen around Austin.

Your car looks very well maintained, next to mint

Like Hornet mentioned, very DIY.

If you're local to the Austin area, I'll show you mine and give as much advice as possible.

Not too far from me then

We'll have to meet up sometime.

As for mods, the only thing you should be concerned with right now is getting a megasquirt and learning how to tune your own car.

At least learn it in stock form and squeek out a little bit more power.

You have much to learn

Renegade but it kept getting shut down (too big).

There's a early morning car meet sundays downtown Round Rock with classics and misc. Random ones that popup on facebook.

Also check out Tejas miata club - Get into the facebook group for invites to events, cruises etc.

You should try to make a track event at TWS then. I instruct for "The Driver's Edge" group. My daughter is a student at A&M so I make it down there periodically.

I will definitely give that a look! Might be a little out of my "college student" budget but Ill see what I can do. I wanna get out to TWS before it "closes" soon!

Now that I think of it, did you snag this MSM out of Austin? I swear I just saw a craigslist post for similar miles the other day.

Also looking to getting a set of RPF1's. Do anyone know of a good size and tire combo. I want something meaty. Thinking 15x8 +28?

I dig RPF-1s (run them on the Silver car), but they can sometimes be a challenge to fit large brakes. Double check that before purchasing. If the RPF-1s don't work out, then there are plenty of good designs that will, starting with Emilio's 6UL, Enkei's PF01, Advanti Storms, etc. Both 949 and Goodwin are great resources for what will fit and work.

Good thing to get rid of the boat anchor wheels early, they're expensive to replace oem and nobody wants them in the miata world due to weight. However I'll take all 4 for $400 off of your hands if you want I just got 2 new ones due to wreck and now my old ones look odd when the other side has two brand new ones on the other side.

Same goes with suspension, the msm silver bilsteins are hard to come by. Most just upgrade to aftermarket coil overs or at least put eibach lowering springs on the msm shocks.

Not quite sure how these fit...Don't think they fit too well with the sport brakes is all.
