Default New guy from Savannah GA

Hello everyone,

I have been reading posts on this site, as well as miata.net for a while; but have finally set up a profile. I live in Savannah GA and have a 1997 Miata M edition with 146,000 miles. It is currently bone stock. I have had the car for about a year now. I bought it from on older lady who always did all the maintenance and has every receipt from any work that was done on it. I have made sure all of the maintenance is up to date. I am getting ready to do a compression test on it to see how strong the motor is. I absolutely love this car! I have had in the past a 1998 Camaro SS with some mods making about 480whp and a 2015 Mustang GT performance package; but I have to say that I have enjoyed my Miata more than any car I have owned. Something about these cars is just special.

The Miata is my weekend/nice weather/fun/autocross car. My daily is a BMW 3 series. I did my first autocross event a couple months ago and had a blast! I have started to look into a turbo setup for my car, but I want to take it slow and do as much research as possible. I have read lot of information on this forum, miata.net, car passion channel, gear heads, etc. I have talked to Lars at mkturbo a little bit, and have found out that he is only a 2 hour drive from me. From what I have researched and read, I am leaning towards his complete kit when I am ready to buy as it seems like the best deal for what I want. I am hoping to make around the 200-250 hp range. I have read that around 250 is the highest you can safely go on the stock engine and transmission. My goal for this car is just to have fun. Im not worried about what autocross class I am in or anything like that.

If anyone is near the Savannah area let me know! I would love to see some other Miatas and hopefully drive one that has a turbo setup to see what it is like, before I get my own. I look forward to talking and learning from everyone.

MK Turbo is a good choice.

I've had the MK kit for three years and 25k. Great setup.
