I would first of all like to say hello. I'm 23 years old and live in the Caribbean (Puerto Rico). I have a 94 1.8 STD Miata with 64,000 miles on it. My father bought it from a neighbor who was leaving for the states in its current conditions. I was a 300zx turbo on it, 38mm turbonetics wastegate, 3in downpipe, built bottom end, 5th injector setup, and a HKS BOV. In the first week my brother was driving it like crazy and broke it (ran too lean). From that moment my dad asked me if I want it and so I took it. Now I'm interested in rebuilding it and doing it right. So here I am.\

Here are a few pics of it.

Wow!

That is a stunningly bad turbo setup! O_O

Welcome and good luck!

Love the filter setup, very legit.

Makes my head hurt to look at. Too many extra parts in there, lines every which way.

Looks like a fun project. Bet it comes out better on the other side.

Built bottom end... not bad.

5th injector setup.... facepalm.

IC piping... please just take it outside and shoot it. From the picture I can hear it saying please kill meeeeee

I'm especially fond of the BOV placement.

Needs more this, though:

Well, there's nothing wrong with it.

I do, however, love the shiny and expensive cam gears in contrast to shit everything else

FRT_Fun 08-23-2013 04:37 PM

sharkycarlos 08-23-2013 04:38 PM

concealer404 08-23-2013 05:06 PM

Nah bro, it's like what OP has, but better.

sharkycarlos 08-23-2013 05:10 PM

Do you guys know where I can find a replacement for the complete car carpet?

concealer404 08-23-2013 05:11 PM

Priorities, you has them.

Welcome to the forum. We're here to help.

And to laugh a little and point at your car.

But then we will probably help you.

sixshooter 08-23-2013 06:01 PM

I thought everybody from Puerto Rico was already here in Florida.

thenuge26 08-23-2013 06:05 PM

Yeah we're not laughing at you, we're laughing at your neighbor.

And maybe a little at your brother for breaking it.

What's broken?

concealer404 08-23-2013 06:22 PM

What ISN'T broken?

sharkycarlos 08-23-2013 06:38 PM

Broke the copression rings from pistons 1,3 and 4. Im goin to buy a new piston set and install the with the manley rods which I all ready have and change the complete turbo setup. Do you guys think a TDO5 will do fine with the 1.8 engine since I all ready have it?

thenuge26 08-23-2013 08:26 PM

There's no such thing as too big :giggle:

sharkycarlos 08-23-2013 08:41 PM

Fair enough :)

I know it's been awhile but here's a small update. Here's what I've done:

83.5 supertech pistons
Pauter rods
King bearings
ARP head, main & flywheel studs and bolts
Flyin Miata Happy Meal
Bp4w head
Supertech everything in the head ( valves, springs and ret.)
GATES blue belt and pulleys
Begi Intake Manifold
64mm throttle
650cc injectors (for now)
DW 200 fuel pump
-6 fuel lines from tank foward
LS coils
Coolant re route
Ebay cast exhaust manifold ( had luck with it before in another miata. If it doesn't work out I'll change it)
Precision Turbo 5554 pte
Tial MS-V wastegate
HKS BOV
AEM EMS4

https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1459413697

I still need to finish the fuel lines, finish the wire tuck, installed the T2 diff and trans and finish the coolant lines ( still debating if I should go with normal lines or AN).

Still waiting for new rad, fans, damper, fuel regulator and filter.

Girz0r 03-31-2016 08:39 AM

I'd get a new exhaust manifold for just the extra flow alone vs taco fluuurrpp.

BEGi intake mani looks gud :likecat:

What coolant radiator are you going to run?

sharkycarlos 03-31-2016 02:18 PM

I was thinking on running the mishimoto with fan shroud. If a 1.8 top Mount ext. Wg appears at a half decent price I'll change it.

Don't do this, your oem fans are able to draw more air.... :eggplant:

sharkycarlos 03-31-2016 07:12 PM

Stock fans are to big and don't let the intercooler pipes fit since the begi intake manifold moves the throttle fowards

Girz0r 03-31-2016 07:41 PM

See if you can find a slim single spal then to wire if space is tight.

Those mishimoto ones are noisy and don't do too well with heat extraction.

I was actually thinking of doing the same thing. Will update when I do
