Just joined the forums. Have been reading on here for months as I've been building out my Turbo Miata and it's been absolutely priceless resource, so finally had to become part of the community.
Here is what I've got:
'99 NB Miata
5spd Manual
Xida suspensions 800/500
Garrett Turbo running 12 psi of boost, 440ci injectors
Cold air intake
Mishimoto radiator and intercooler
Flying miata clutch and racing flywheel (happy meal!)
MegaSquirt 3 Pro ECU (tuned by yours truly, so not great )
AFR gauge / boost gauge
New clutch hydraulics
Toyo R888R tires
Next project is racing seats, and want to do limited slip diff and 6 spd transmission...
Thanks for the warm welcome! Definitely interested in track days... I did Laguna Seca a couple weeks ago and am now running Bondurant on the 16th... I’m building this as a track only car as my daily is a Ram 1500. Are you based in Phoenix?
The track you'll be on is West, which is owned by Bondurant but is not "The" Bondurant school course. Inside that facility (Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park, formerly Firebird International Raceway) there are 4 different road courses, East, West, Main, and Bondo. The tracks Main and Bondo can be combined to form one mega track as well but only ProAuto runs that config. East is on the other side of the Lake by I-10, West is down in that pit on the west side of the property, Bondo school course is directly south of West, and the Main course uses the staging lanes, drag strip, the return loop and then that drag race paddock and skid pad area to form that road course.
I have videos of all these courses on my YouTube page, link should be in signature.
I haven't been racing for awhile (almost two years) because I bought a house, completely gutted and remodeled, and am now K swapping my car but I'll hopefully be out there soon enough to say hi. Maybe Feb/March best case scenario? It'll run in NASA ST/TT 4 or 5 and ProAuto PS2 or PS3 depending on tune. You'll like it out here as far as motorsports go, but everyone puts their toys away when it gets hot.
My wife and I track our NA Miata and Camaro, mostly with ProAuto, though we'll be at INDE in Willcox with PCA in a couple of weeks. We're in Prescott, but come down for the racing when it's not too hot.
You'll like the West track... it's a good Miata track.
Welcome! Enjoy the track before it heats back up. Just did West this past weekend, you'll love it - it's pretty suited to our cars and its fairly easy to beat up on some of the much higher HP stuff.
I'm also in Chandler, and generally so all the ProAutoSports events I can, next is Mondo on Black Friday weekend. Maybe I'll see you around at some point. Welcome to the forum, these guys know what's up and make it easy to build something capable.
Awesome thanks for all the info and resources guys. I moved from the Chicago area about 1.5 years ago after selling my business. Love it out here so far and looking forward to connecting with people in the scene and doing more track days!
