Hey just telling you guys what ive been told... just bought the car. Called the tuner and made an appointment for june 8th. Both of there storys seem to match. Havnt even driving the dam thing haha. We will see i guess. Anything can happen
I'm thinking 300whp/220wtq on a disneyjet. If you're lucky. This is assuming you have the fuel and ecu to do so.
To put it in perspective OP, to build a miata that really makes 500whp reliably, you will be north of $15k into the engine, turbo hardware, transmission, and rear end. Not including all the costs of the rest of the **** that needs to be updated and beefed up to support that. While it is "doable" based on the little we know about the car, and the pictures you posted, we are highly skeptical.
He told me so far it has forged rods wisco flat top pistons bord over forged crank. Ported and polished head 680cc injectors aem series 1ems. Custom turbo different cams. Theres a spec sheet somewhere in this mess of boxes he gave me. He said 10.1 compresson which is crazy high for turbo car ill keep diggin

the motor might be solid for 500hp. It is my understanding that the HP/torque limit for a forged crank/piston 1.6 or 1.8 hasn't been firmly established. There is a lot more to making 500hp than forged rods and pistons though.
A 300hp miata is super fun and scary. Let's just start there?
I think you need to stop listening to the tooner and previous owner, and start doing real research on the parts that are on the car. You'll likely find a lot of deviations from the claims and the truth. Everything that you've mentioned sounds like snake oil from these guys.
