I'm thinking 300whp/220wtq on a disneyjet. If you're lucky. This is assuming you have the fuel and ecu to do so.

To put it in perspective OP, to build a miata that really makes 500whp reliably, you will be north of $15k into the engine, turbo hardware, transmission, and rear end. Not including all the costs of the rest of the **** that needs to be updated and beefed up to support that. While it is "doable" based on the little we know about the car, and the pictures you posted, we are highly skeptical.

I'm not skeptical. I'm 100% positive it won't do it.

I hope OP sticks around long enough to post dyno sheets.

the motor might be solid for 500hp. It is my understanding that the HP/torque limit for a forged crank/piston 1.6 or 1.8 hasn't been firmly established. There is a lot more to making 500hp than forged rods and pistons though.

A 300hp miata is super fun and scary. Let's just start there?

No it's not. That wouldn't fit under the hood.

Source: I have a few of those in my garage.

But if it WAS, i would maybe change my tune on the 500hp claim, as those are actually good motors, unlike the 1.6 you have in the car.

I think you need to stop listening to the tooner and previous owner, and start doing real research on the parts that are on the car. You'll likely find a lot of deviations from the claims and the truth. Everything that you've mentioned sounds like snake oil from these guys.

Hope you didn't pay more than about $3500 for the car.

Pro tip for everyone:

start selling modified cars to clueless kids, tell them whatever you want, they will believe every word.

The premium he paid was for the clearly superior 1.6 engine

I hear they rev so fast you gotta run a project for a shift light and set it 4k rpm early or you'll hit the rev limit 90% of the time, every time.
