Default New as of today but been lurking for a while!

Hey everyone,

I am new to the site but have owned my 90 NA for almost a year now. Just started modifications on it this month with a new Hard Dog Ace Bar and looking for Coilovers now! Also looking to turbo my car in the future and will slowly be getting all the parts together!

Nice to meet everyone!

I am in the same situation! Lurking for a long while.

Hi Collin, I joined last night and like you, I too am embarking on my own project. My car is a 97 Miata with 190 K miles on it. The engine is beginning to leak oil from a gasket or a seal way down in the crank seal I think. So, I decided to do the following: a 99 Head with 1mm oversize valves, 99 intake and block with 83.5 pistons. The engine builder is doing all this work as we type. And in this case we are both confused. The engine builder only knows 8 Cylinder engines. Funny as hell as we are both confused what else is needed. I have most of the other parts to make it run, I hope!

I have yet to decide whether to install all the 99 wiring and 99 ECU to make it pass California stringent emission test. But wiring sounds like a pain in the rear.

But I am determined to make it happen. Hence, my name.

For what I know about your project of boosting your engine, you will have plenty of resources in this forum. People like lots of horsepower in this forum and they are super helpful to others.

Please post images of your project, I would like to see your progress.

Why not just use your existing harness and modify it to work with the 99 crank and cam sensor? Or just reuse your cas sensor. Since your already obd2 you shouldn't have to much of a problem with emissions. CARB just wants all existing emissions equipment used from the new engine. Not sure how that will work with the 99 header and exhaust. I'd call a ref for the full information.

Is your 99 federal or Ca version?
