Newb from DFW
Name's Lee (
), and I currently fund my vehicular obsessions via a gig as a service writer for a local independent BMW/Mini/Mercedes Benz repair facility in Ft Worth. Also have a degree in culinary arts, about a dozen years in the restaurant business, and a large waistline to show for it.
The Miata's a '92. Seems to be pretty much a base model, aside from the addition of AC. No power steering/windows/mirrors/etc, cloth seats, no cruise... I bought it back in March of this year as cheap fun and have since been alternating funds between it and my lifted '96 Jeep XJ 2-door.
The NA as purchased:

The NA somewhat as it currently sits (not pictured is a still white Flyin' Miata extractor hood that I recently acquired):

-Bilstein HDs with GC SM-rate springs/sleeves
-Hard Dog HCM1Z0591GSXYZRERR
-TR Motorsports C3M 15x9
-Nitto NT-01 225/45-15
There are some other bits-and-pieces on the car, but that's really the important stuff. I joined here because this appears to be the Miata site for aftermarket ECUs and specifically the Megasquirt system. Not sure that the car will ever see a snail under its hood, but then again I'm not sure that it won't either.
Yours truly,
-Lee

I've had some turbo fun previously (93 MR2) and "quick" cars (E46 M3, C5 Z) in the past. This is my cheap fun car since I broke the bank on the last two. Trying to learn my lesson... "trying" anyway.
Being a BMW guy at heart, I'm really interested in going independent throttle body on the NA.
I suppose time will tell. Either way, MS is the starting point so I need to get that taken care of first and foremost. Should be sending
some moneys on payday.

Yep, it has been done in white for now.
***Edit*** Moved from McKinney. In 1978 there were 12,000 people and now there are 120,000. Too many folks up in your business. Chose Granbury and of course, the track is twelve miles from the house.

Good idea starting with that, and good luck. Sooner or later you'll get the craving for boost. Everyone does
You're on the DFW board right?
Thanks for the welcomes, folks.
Yeah, I troll through there from time-to-time. Primarily for the classifieds, though. Picked up that FM hood from Trey a couple weeks ago off of a post on DFWM.
I keep meaning to head out to one of the Keller's meets on Wednesdays, but long drive + work night + I hate Keller's.
Very possible. Especially if your first thought was "wow, that's a really fat man in a tiny car."
I dig 'em. Not the lightest, perhaps not the prettiest, but for what I paid for them with my TR wholesale account, I just couldn't not buy them. Would have loved a set of 6UL 15x9s, but I can buy 2.5 sets of C3Ms for the same price as one set of 6ULs.
The finish on them is actually better than I had expected. I bought a set of the darker gray C1's for a friend's E30 LeMons car last year and was pretty disappointed in-person. The light silver isn't bad at all, though. Wish they made them in bronze...
