Sup. New to Miatas and this forum.Picked up a 1999 Miata Manual, running for $600. Bad paint, crap top and Had a water pump leak. Fixed all the mechanical bits, now im ready to start building a autox/drift hybrid. Ive lived in japan for the past few years and learned to drift pretty well on the tracks (fuji, honjo, mobara and some others) Looking to build an all around drift/autox car. Probably gonna lean more toward the autox side though because San Diego has zero drift events unless you count a few kids doing burnouts at the Zion meet. Autox seems more relevant here.

Welcome! BMWCCA puts on the best autocrosses down here in our opinion. Lots of runs, lunch included, etc. lots of Miatas attend their events and we typically have a Miata at the top of the time slips at the end of the day

If you want to drift you have to travel a bit to tracks that host those events.
