Newbie takes his first steps...or not
Hi all,
I think I may have made a huge mistake by purchasing a beat up '93 miata with 230k miles on the odometer. Yeah. I'm 22, I love cars, and I wanted in on the action! I threw caution (and common sense) to the wind ponied up 2k and purchased this...pile... I'm Just take a look: https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...702087fd2a.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...5172ff862a.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...1b9fbf736d.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...1fe455c884.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...6925a51bb6.jpg Everything is as I bought it. If I keep it, I've got some work cut out for me...but should I keep it? I come to you for guidance. |
Well... your dipstick handle isn't broken so you have got that going for you :-D
I think you could get a better miata for $2k the question is though, can you resell that one for what you paid for it? I feel like at times I paid too much for mine also BUT I keep working on it and fixing it up and I'm happy with my purchase. That's ultimately what matters... I will also say, however, if that is your only car and you absolutely need a car everyday you should get something else. There is a strong possibility something on it will require more work than you can do in a weekend... of course any car you buy this old regardless of price runs this risk. TLDR: do what makes you happy if you can afford to do so. |
Nobody buys a 1.6 car and wins.

How are the rocker panels?
What do you want to do with it? You might have over paid a bit but not too crazy much depending on the area. Its hard to find even a beat Miata in my area for sub 2k. It doesn't look too bad. A good cleaning and a lot of love will be needed. |
