Hi, new guy here!
Hello everyone,
I'm Jesse from Roseburg, Oregon, 25, married with one child (1 month old yesterday) and I just picked up a 1995 Miata 1.8l 5 speed with 130k on the clock. Really excited to have a Miata and I'm basically an owner because I can appreciate a driver car and I have the autocross bug. The Miata has always been a favorite of mine and I decided it was time I owned one.
My plans:
Drive my Miata wherever and whenever I can until autocross events.
Accumulate parts to do a mild turbo setup on my 1.8 while driving the car n/a until everything is ready to be installed.
Replace the terrible wheels on my car. Wanting to find some 15" 5-6 wide spokes or like bbs ch or cr series.
My desired build:
I'm looking to be somewhere around 200-250 whp with a solid torque curve and quick spool. I plan on using mspnp v2. I want this thing to spool quick and still have enough top end to not get beat by a similar powered Honda in a drag race.
Pleasure to be here.

You will most likely end up in the $3000-$4000 range to get to the power range you want, unless you know how to weld and can fab things yourself. You can do it a bit cheaper, but it will take a long time to search for deals and get exactly what you want.
The MS2 gets zero new support. Features are not being added. You are limited in the number of inputs and outputs you have. The MS3 does everything the MS2 does, but better in every way.
If you wanted to play video games would you go out and buy a ps4 or a ps3? Yes the PS3 will play games, but it is older, not getting new games, and things are not as pretty. While the PS4 is getting all the latest games, has the best online experience and so forth and so forth.

Right. I totally agree.
I will incorporate the ms3 into my build plans.
I have a 16g turbo stored at my dads house but I have to research its specs and measure the comp and turbine exducer and inducer before I just slap it on.
I am not a fan of inefficient turbo setups.

Welcome. Also from Oregon. Unless you can build your own manifold you are better off with something off the shelf. Good luck with the build. If you ever make it up here for some auto-x find the shitty red car that makes lots of noise.
