Default noob

Brand new to the Miata craze. I come from offroading. Mostly jeeps, rock crawling. Build offroad buggies. Trying to get a handle on Miatas. Lots of fun driving, but looking for info on turbos, suspension mods, and maybe SCCA auto cross. Glad that someone took the time to make this forum.

This site literally has everything you'd need to know about how to turbo a Miata with ZERO experience. This is, by far, the greatest site to learn about how to mod your Miata. Just don't go asking questions that are already on here. Also be prepared to get flammed for things the older guys don't like. Just don't take it personally.

Thanks for the welcome. I have a 1991 Miata. Stock at this point. Looking for pointers on suspension modifications and turbo charging.

What do you want to do with the car overall? This will help everyone out here on giving advice.

If you're looking to track the car there are a ton of other things that should take priority over a turbo setup. safety gear, suspension, wheels, etc etc etc.

A 20 year old car with a turbo slapped on trying to do track evens is a recipe for fail

welcome btw

Agreed... You have to start somewhere. I fabricate jeep parts, suspensions, roll cages, even tube chasis. This is my first forey into the street world. The only part of the menu I have not done so far is the turbo. That is where I need the help, thanks.

No prob. Pretty much 95% of all the questions you can possibly think up are already answered here. Search button is your friend. Start with the DIY FAQ its pretty much the most basic and easily understandable breakdown of what you'll face.

Being in the fabrication business I have a feeling you'll be able to make some nice parts for yourself and save money over buying a kit.
There's quite a bit of DIY fabrication done by members here so you're not alone.
good luck

This forum is the bomb. The coil on plug write up is great. Back to more digging.
