Noob in WA
So just picked up my first miata. It's a 90 with swapped torsen rear end and what started as a greddy turbo kit. Now has new tubular manifold but retains greddy style inlet and has the tan inj. (from 1.8?) the bipes timing controller and vortech FMU. And a hack job front mount from what I think is silvia or MR2 side mount stock I/C. I will be replacing front mount for better fitting unit.
So my inital plans was to get rid of the vortech in favor of voodoo box but I may just go with M.S. system. I first need to address some heat issues the lack of turbo heat shield has melted a small hole in brake resivor. The car will be used mostly for a track car. I have been tracking a Subaru STi for a few years but wanted to start over with a rwd car. Just lapping days non competitive. |
Yes to MS. Pictures please.

Welcome, where in WA are you located?
|
Howdy!
|
Welcome, you don't need much of a heat shield to protect the reservoir (search for pics).
|
located in Kenmore. Replaced resivor today and made a bit of heat shield for it.
|
If you made a metal heat shield, you can also put a small layer of insulation around the reservoir for added protection. I made a loop from foil tape and carpet insulation, works great, although you can't see the fluid level as easily.
let's see some engine bay pictures. And definitely get a MS, contact Wayne_Curr, he's in Bellingham and can build you a MS for cheap. |
