Hey!

Okay I'm a 'noob'. I drive a 1990 Miata, 1.6l stock. Any questions, ask 'em.

Question: do you like it in the butt or the mouth?

What are your plans here?
Interested in going turbo or just to felch?
How many miles on the car?
Have you checked to see what crank you have, or do you know how?
You say "stock" does that mean bone stock or some minor mods?
Preferences for your car: drag, drift, ----, street car, track car, etc..
Power goals?
Is the motor healthy?
Budget?
Mechanical experience, do you have any?

Wan't to turbo, whats 'felch'?
Don't feel like walking outside to look.
Crank??
racing exchaust
drift, street?
I have no clue about power, but anything under 260hp feels slow.
I would hope so.
Teenager that currently has no job is the budget.
If you call 'working' on cars with the boys experience. Other than that, a little.

Not a good sign, that means you're lazy.

260hp what? My mom's Honda Odyssey makes 260hp and is **** slow, I ran recently ran my car @ 15psi and it was much faster than the minivan. Both where probably around the same power.

First thing that needs to be done. Check compression, leak down test. Then move onto things such as new sparks plugs, any gaskets that need replacing, etc..

Rob a bank or felch on camera.

-Felch is gross. But I hear you can make some decent miata turbo money doing it.

-Link for you to read about cranks and shafts.

-Street cars are starting to become more popular in the miata world. Big turbo, high power high way monsters. Drifting is frowned upon on this forum, unless it is taken seriously.

-High horsepower, light car > high horsepower, fat car. We are all about power-to- weight ratios on this board.

-You mentioned you did not know the state of your motor. You won't walk your broken leg outside to tell us the mileage, so assuming it's high mileage due to the age, a leak down and compression test will tell you the status and health of your motor.

-Be prepared, mentioning that you are female will make you a easy target because most of us are packing fudge, if you get my drift.

My felching pic isn't showing up, so go here: http://img2.moonbuggy.org/imgstore/i...lie-manson.jpg
DON'T TYPE IN ALL CAPS, AND WTF DOES "ABOUR" MEAN? I TRIED GOOGLEING IT AND CAME UP WITH JACK ****!
A stock 1.6 made 116hp and 100lb/ft factory, so your goal of 260(?) would make your car pretty quick.
You need your compression checked because adding a turbo to an engine adds stress, a compression check will tell you if your engines in good enough shape to add that extra stress of a turbo, or if theres work to be done first.
Thanks for clearing that up, I was wondering if it was Josie or José

This sentence tells us how much of a noob you are.
A 260rwhp miata is like a pretty decent corvette.

Yep, it's miataturbo. We all have smart remarks because you're making all of the typical n00b mistakes (not reading our stickies, mainly).

You'll probably get a pass since you're female though. I'm willing to bet most of us would love to see a girl come here, learn about making power, and apply the lessons to her own car. Srsly. Correct me if I'm wrong fellas, but I don't think it's happened yet.
