I joined MT back in 2008 when I bought my first miata, a '99 that I had dreams of turboing. Unfortunately that never came to fruition and I ended up selling it a couple years later. I then picked up a '92 Sunburst Yellow NA6 in 2014 and a 2007 PRHT a few years after that I ended up doing a 2.5 swap on. I sold the NC last year but held onto the NA.
After importing a Toyota Crown Athlete V with a 1JZ-GTE from Japan I got the itch to finally turbo the NA so I ordered a full Kraken turbo kit with a Pulsar GTX2860R gen2 in October '24 and started the build.
I picked up a MS3pro mini and wired it up with the help of the guide on trubokitty and some posts on here. I drove it around the block, put it back on my quickjacks and proceeded to start the turbo install along with FF 640cc injectors.
I just finished the build last week.
Now I've come to the part I've dreaded the most, tuning. I'm a tuning super noob, my NC had an ECUtek tune, but it was done remotely. I've been watching OGPedXing's videos on YT and reading what I can but I think I'm going to need some help from the gurus on here. I can get the car to cold start and idle under WUE, but once it's up to temp the idle starts hunting and it eventually stalls. Giving it throttle and then letting off makes the rpms bounce around for a few seconds before settling down. I'm in Toronto, so if anyone knows of a good tuner in the GTA I can probably limp my way over to them, otherwise I'm open to some remote help.
