Default Others In The DFW Area?

Not technically a "meet and greet" post but figured this would be the right section.

I'm a college student going to UNT and have been planning on going turbo'd for the last year or so. I've done the research, bought nearly all the parts (standard T25 DIY setup), but have struggled to find a Miata community close to me by word of mouth. I've actually never been in a turbo Miata, just other turbo'd cars near the same P/W ratio.

I've been out to Keller's burgers in Dallas a few times over the past few years but seem to miss the turbo cars + its an hour drive so I can't go too often. Since summer's coming up and I'm planning on using that time to make this build happen, I was hoping to find some locals (DFW/Denton) who would be willing to let me check out their setups, pick up some tips from (can't beat experience), and/or tell me if what I'm planning on doing is a great or "turn your pistons into jello" type idea. I won't have a stash of dumb questions to ask since I've really dug into researching the last few months. I just primarily want to see some examples of what I'm about to do in person and meet some people who appreciate that amazing car called the Miata while I'm at it.

If your local or have anything else for me, feel free to shoot me a PM! I'm reading MT.net every day so ill respond quickly.

Thank you!
Logan

There are probably half a dozen people running MKTurbo setups in the DFW area. I think most of them are on FaceBook.

Man, haven’t used my Facebook since high school. Guess I’m gonna have to dig it up and change the profile photo to something respectable finally

I'm right there with ya. I tried to get in contact with people in DFW that have a MKturbo set up but didn't get the opportunity to meet any of them. There is a guy named mauricio (check out metroplex miata enthusiasts on facebook) that has a very nice turbo miata.

Small world. Just had messaged Mauricio since he's parting out a Miata at the moment.

I'm just planning on going to Kellers every once and a while and checking facebook occasionally to see whos out there. It shouldn't take long to get in contact with some people especially by going to Kellers.
