Red face Revitalize my '03

Been lurking for awhile here, figured it was time to post in the meet & greet.

I'm 31, bought my '03 LS 6-spd new back in May '03, was my first new car (rolled off the lot with 6 miles on the clock). Tossed on a roll bar in Nov. of '03, also threw on a few cosmetic/functionality/non-performance mods (voodoo ****, auxmod). Just to keep the car interesting.

After driving the same car daily after 7 yrs, I was itching for a change, got some new wheels/tires and an intake. Rekindled my Miata love. So now, setting aside $$ monthly for a turbo (figure thats cheaper than buying a whole new car to get that "new car feeling").

Reading here regularly to up my knowledge of what to get, what to do, what not to do, what to watch out for.

So far the "plan" is to get a kit, run 5-6 psi to start with either a FMU or a dummy box like voodoo then learn and slowly upgrade. The car is still my daily driver and that's not likely to change anytime soon. Street-ability and reliability are my needs. In fact street-ability and reliability from Day 1 really.

Well thanks for reading my ramblings whoever actually reads this and thanks for sharing all your knowledge everyone I'm learning a lot and getting a lot of entertainment.

Thats back in '03, right after i dropped the bar in. I have a bunch of install pics actually but as a web designer my site is pretty shameful. (actually in the middle of a revamp now, don't judge me!)

Intake, which I hope to sell whenever I start forcing air in there.

New wheels and tires, konig foil 15x7 with 205/50/15 RE-11 on there. Tossed those on in April, started me down this dark path.

Looks really clean on the outside. Clean up the engine bay a bit, throw on a turbo, and make it GO as good as it looks

Thanks dude! Most of what I've done so far has been what I think are understated tasteful upgrades (clear corners, mazdaspeed mats, voodoo **** & grip, leather boots on both, mazdaspeed pedals). Most of those have been Christmas gifts from my car-guy father in law (owns a Lotus Europa S2 and a late 60s Lotus Elan)

Hah, yeah my engine bay is pretty shameful. Made even more obvious by the bling'd out intake tube.

How do you keep your engine bay clean? My old man hoses his vette's engine bay down then runs a leaf blower over it. That always seemed scary to me just throwing water all over the place, his motor seems ok with it though.

Most definitely need to get some speed though, in a family of car guys I'm the slowest that's for sure.
