Default Saying hi.

Howdy ya'll, signed up awhile ago but didn't bother with an intro post. I have had my 91 BRG, Canadian import for around three or four years now as my first car. I had been wanting to turbo the car for awhile, if for nothing else, for that sweet, sweet, blow off noise. I recently moved to a place with a garage and have been slowly planning things out for going turbo, reading the forums here, and a few other guides online. I recently installed a MS PNP2 and have had quite the time learning how to use Tuner Studio and researching how to tune (wish there was some golden book or guide, but seems like once you get it, you get it). Besides Megasquirt, I just have maintenance on my plate right now, before the consequences catch up with me... though today I think I heard a rattle from under the car that was not the exhaust and that scares me.

Brohiem there is a book its the mega manual. Also post pictures and plan details and what you plan to do with the car. And any cat pictures if you have them seems to be the norm around here

Oh damn, you know what I was reading the mega manual for like a day and then the firmware got corrupt and I dealt with all of that really recently and forgot to keep reading. Thanks for reminding me! I need to put some time aside on the weekend to read through those things, but have gotten a quite a bit better at using VEAL at least. I did a road trip last weekend from Seattle to Vancouver, one tank of gas, but it was running really rich. Didn't bother to record MPG, I'm curious how much an affect the tune will have on that.

Pictures, I'll have to take some later, I only seem to have photos before any mods lol. I currently have all the tasks to go Turbo in Trello and going through them at a "taking my time" pace. Right now, mainly support mods for the MSPNP, like a TPS and probably rewiring my IAT. I'm still waiting on my Flyin' Miata "Brake" Friday sale brembos to put on the front (little big brake kit) and I need to change my suspension setup. Pretty sure they're stock, ~125k miles, recently the front started to make a bit of a "compressing" sound when it hits a speed bump or any type of bump that it didn't use to make (very scientific words). I've been VERY tempted to ask people in the suspension sub-forum about "which is the best" but I'm sure that would be a shitpost since there is a lot of personal preference there. If I wasn't a cheap ***, I would probably buy one of Flyin' Miata's kits, but I feel like there is a bit of a price tag with them, but the security of knowing it will "just work." Somewhere inbetween all of that, probably install cruise control so I don't get speeding tickets when I'm just commuting.

Once I get to the turbo side of things, exhaust + turbo, tune, intercooler, tune. But want to make sure everything else on the car is sound before dropping that money, time, and effort.

No pets from me :( too afraid of leaving those guys alone when traveling.

Look at 949racing.com for proven suspension options.

+1 on what sixshooter just said. 949 is pretty much a 1 stop shop with their big grip kit.
