Hi all, just joined up on the forum and thought i'd introduce myself

bought my first Mk 2.5 when I was 16 and learned to drift in it with my dad, the car was pretty rotten so we got as much seat time out of it we could before breaking for parts but then I was hooked to the MX5
passed my driving test in December 2018 and bought a MK2.5 with 70k on the clock, I started modifying it with HSD's hard top then firefly body kit and ultralight 8" wide 15" wheels but felt it was lacking power so purchased the ME turbo TD04 upgrade bolt on package and fitted that, got the car mapped and was 204bhp at fly stock clutch wouldn't take any more power, but the car was much quicker and great to drive
I decided I was going to give the car a good test at DriftLand back in February as was really looking forward to some turbo skidz and my seat time lasted 3 minutes, first go on the track trying to give myself some space from the cars in front it was cold and wet and I spun coming off the straight, was sitting in the middle of the track and a **** in a BMW compact came hooning off the corner and crashed right in to the front passenger corner of my car, the whole front corner pushed over about 4" wrecking one of my alloys and bending the front part of the chassis leg, to say I was devastated was an understatement

so recovered the car home and assessed the damage and it was beyond repair, so I have started a project, I picked up a 1992 mk1 import that's been sitting for a while for just £300 and my plan is now to swap the mk2.5 parts in to the mk1..... so not being too sure whats all involved in the swap with engine and wiring etc and thot best to get on the forums as no doubt i'll be looking for help and advice along the way

Welcome to the forum. You should just keep drifting the 2.5. All drift cars will be destroyed eventually anyway. No reason to start with a good body.
