No no no no no you're going in the wrong direction! Your old wheels were kinda cool. Your current wheels should automatically redirect you to club roadster.net.

But at least you has trubo.

Fireindc 01-22-2013 11:32 AM

I agree with turbofan, your car looked much better with the old wheels. Did you keep the old ones? Wanna sell em?

drummersrs 01-22-2013 11:34 AM

Yea i still have them. Im going to hang on to them a bit, as i will never see another set again. Last manufactured in 92' and only a couple sets were made. They are rays/volks 5/4s'

Zabac 01-22-2013 11:49 AM

One set for street tires, one set for track tires, sounds good to me.
How wide are they? What offset? Just curious, don't intend on finding some for myself.

Nice clean build though, keep it simple. Don't need any internals for your power levels, you are good to go. People here will tell you to build this build that, for low 200's all you need is a good tune and you will be reliable.

But do consider up-sizing your DP, that will show you positive results.

Thanks!

Exactly. I plan to get maybe some Hoosiers for the rays/volks which weight -12lbs.

they are 15"s and 7" wide with a pretty high offset. Im not 100% sure on the actual offset numbers.

As far as the DP goes i plan on making another larger one this winter when i pull the motor for the clutch, and re-gasketing. I want to make between 200-225@ max for now.

Sounds reasonable. I think you'll hit that no problem. That is about what my goal is for this year.

So i finally started some winter projects with the car. A few of witch i have been procrastinating on for a while, but hey the car doesnt come out at all once they put down the salts.

My clutch was slipping under boost almost all season this year pretty much since Thirdgen helped me out with injectors and a tune, and ive had one sitting in my garage for almost 2 years. I went with an exedy st. 1 clutch. They say it will hold up to 250ft. lbs of torque and i probably wont come near that until i can afford to put rods and pistons in my block.

While taking the trans out which wasn't hard at all, i managed to get a bolt stuck in my flywheel. I read that these bolts can sometimes stretch and become near impossible to remove. I sent the flywheel to my buddys machine shop and no one there could even get it out. They tried everything and so did I. So now i am going to be looking for a new flywheel. I also realized that my clutch was getting soaked with oil, (rear main seal), my trans was also leaking from the trans seal, and also leaking from the tail shaft seal on the other side of trans. :vash::vash::vash::loser:

I guess you will have this with a 20 year old car. I went and ordered a timing belt kit from flyin miata which comes with a ton of seals and a good water pump as well. I will also be resealing the trans bits, and clocking my turbo so that the cold side will face down, making my inter cooler piping much shorter, and giving me more space to run an intake that is further away from the manifold.

Car on stands with the trans out and on the side of the car

Also found out that the rear bumper side markers fit up front and found a set at the yard for less than a dollar... Looks pretty cool in my opinion

Man its been a while since i made any updates on here. Car is now sitting on KOni/ground controls 550F/300R

LOl speaking of wheel i suppose.... It was free and comfortable. The stocker is just way too big.

18psi 02-12-2014 09:35 AM

your suspension is broken?

Nope. It has 1" top hats and doesn't hit bump stops. Also it is driven for about 1500 miles a year. Its a garage queen.

turbofan 02-12-2014 11:33 AM

Why not part out the motor and stuff then?

Why would I do that? I enjoy driving it all summer. During winter months I keep it off the salt that's all. Car has absolutely no rust all original paint and body panels, including factory hardtop that came with the car. I have a daily driver why not keep my toy nice?

turbofan 02-12-2014 02:40 PM

So is it a summer fun toy or a garage queen?

I'm just busting your balls. It's your car, do what you want. It'll definitely handle better if you get a little more ride height though.

I think he was referring to the fact that your suspension geometry is fucked.
