Default Toronto Mazdaspeeder

Hey all,

2004 VR Mazdaspeed from Toronto, Canada. 1st miata, and I love it (probably is an unhealthy way). Been lurking for some time, learning about the megasquirt as I get ready to mod the heck out of the car, and would appreciate some help (I'm gonna need it!)

Location updated. Oakville, ON, with all the old white people. Yeah, not Toronto, but no one outside of the GTA knows where Oakville is...

No pics - at least none worth looking at. The car has been in storage for a year while I was on the East Coast. I have a ton of stuff ready to go in, just waiting for the right time (summer).

Cool. I'm out there fairly frequently, well close (QEW/Erin Mills) you should also check out torontoroadsters.com if you want to come to a meet or something, there is some miata guys there too. Looking to do some track days this year if you are interested you should come out.

Hey get started now.. you want to be able to drive the car in the nice months

I'm in the same boat I just took mine out of storage, contemplating putting it up on jacks for the rest of March to do some headwork, suspension bushing install, and brake upgrade.

Oh, don't get me wrong. The car is my winter DD. I'm just not going to get down on the ground in the snow to wrench on it!

Spring is around the corner. Daylight savings time is here, and I couldn't be happier. Just bought a house, so I'm sure that my spare time will become scarce, but we'll see.

I grew up at Erin Mills and 403, and went to school at The Woodlands - I know the area well. I'll check out torontoroadsters, but I'm already on Welcome to Mazda-speed and Miataphiles ~ Home, and can only spend so much time on the boards while at work before someone starts complaining

What parts do you have so far?

Begi SG SS DP, FM cat back exhaust, AEM intake, Hallman Rx manual boost controller, Ebay FMIC, Forge DV, Begi TB Inlet, FM O2 modifier. Already installed my boost gauge, and Voodoo shift **** (most important part!)

I'm thinking of trying to go the megasquirt route, but am afraid to post on the mazda-speed board for all the flak I know I'll get. Need to research first, boast later...

There is a guy here that has done the MS on an MSM in parrallel. IMO, it's the best way to go if you have the time and inclination to do the work. If you have to deal with OBD it would be great also. Save yourself some time...on the mazda-speed site you will get suggestion on everything other than MS. None of them have done it so they don't recieve it well.

I hate that guy!!! Evan something, right? Jew from Jersey?

Errr nevermind. Instinctive reaction.

Bentwrench, I'll help you in any way possible, including sharing my maps and stuff (although they may not be too helpful because I'm running 460s, ported wastegate, "more separated" downpipe, etc. .... probably still a good starting point though. Among the first changes you'll need to make is adjusting the cold-start settings, for obvious reasons.

Actually I was refering to the guy that did the work, not you...

Yo Evan,

Do you have a thread somewhere about installing and using the MS? I'm more than just a little bit curious...
