Its funny that you say this forum is dead. This is one of the only forums I know of that is still going pretty strong. Most forums that existed with no quality control have lost all of their members because their member's shitposting fits in well with social media and reddit and whatnot. What you perceive as toxic is really just quality control. Get your head out of your *** and this is a great forum.

If you want to waste time posting questions without searching, go to facebook and get shitty answers to shitty questions.

 

This is a very special forum and this is how you need to think of it. I picture it as a core group of individuals sitting around drinking expensive whiskey with Cuban cigars. To get into the group you need to put your time in doing lots and LOTS and LOTS of reading and homework and contribute to the forum. Then one day after you have proven worthy maybe you will be invited to the core group.

Welcome to the forum. We're generally a pretty welcoming bunch, believe it or not. If you spent any significant amount of time lurking here you'd know that picking on the n00bs is tradition. Kinda like polio or rickets. If you are up for no nonsense technical and mechanical discussion, feel free to stick around, you might learn something. If you don't like it here, go back to r/Miata or one of the many, many Facespace Miata circlejerks. Don't **** in our pool just because you don't like the flavor of the water.

Since you mention it, every time I log in, I've always noticed at the bottom of the forum where it shows "most active users online at once", it usually shows a time within the last few hours to one day. I think the reason for that is the low SNR here.

OP the type of guy who goes to Miata Club on Facebook and asks what kinda oil everyone is using ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
