...now taking corrective action.

26 yr old dude, in the OKC metro area.

Currently have no time or money to invest in my car, but have a genuine interest in turbo miatas.

Previous car was an 83 280zxt. Nice and loud, incorrect gauges, and 7psi of boost. Feeling that (really) little kick was smile-inducing.

Fast forward about 8 years, my wife wants a Mini Cooper S. This means I'll get her Hyundai for the daily slog, and my NB can become a toy.

So, I'm fixing what's broken slowly but surely, and getting involved with the miata forum community.

Hello all

welcome.
sounds like you have a great opportunity to make the miata decently fast.
what are your goals with it?

Honestly, I'd like the car to be as fast as an off-the-shelf Camaro SS or Corvette in 5-7 years. In a straight line and around corners. I don't think it's very realistic, but hey whatyagonnado.

What'll probably end up happening is I'll get a FM kit and a rebuild, not in that order, and just be happy with whatever comes in the box.

Most likely for the next couple of years I'll just focus on getting the car up to snuff: suspension, turbo-ready internals, wheels and tires, (because I like to look good while I look fast but go slow) and the other performance-related accoutrement.

Not realistic to be as fast as a camaro/corvette? LOL

280-300whp and you would toast either (non z06 though), and basic suspension mods/good tires and you'll beat em in the corners too.

You don't need much power when it weighs 2200lbs
