technically you cant post in the FS section until you have ten posts.

be aware that if you ***** yourself to 10 posts, you wont be able to post in any section for a very long time. (ban!)

black cars are a nightmare btw.

I hate when people post that a car has 8K miles because the engine has an 8K rebuild.

Default real mileage vs engine mileage

Thats a good point being made about the reference to 8k miles. How should a person take that into account when shopping for a car? Discount it and go by true mileage on car, or add value because it theoretically should have many more running miles?

P.S. Not trying to ***** posts. Trying to keep a low profile and ask honest questions. I though it would be ok to post these in noob section

"187k miles on car, 8k miles on rebuilt engine".

He gives a ****-ton of details about the seats and headlights, but says nothing really about the turbo setup... no mention of any brand names or power output. In my opinion, a "fully built" engine would necessitate at least mentioning the brand names of the rods/pistons and skipping the huge problem of a rip in the seat... as if seats weren't $20 each.

He also doesn't have it in the Lexington Craigslist... which is pretty poor knowledge of how to sell a car in the internet. I never use Autotrader anymore on principle... they make you wait all the way until the last screen before clicking "buy" before telling you it's another $10 if you want any pictures... and you can't link anything in your ad. CL gives you an unlimited letter count, 4 pics, and you can link a dozen pics in the ad if you want.

I really don't know how Autotrader is still in business.

Bottom line about the car, he's $2500 overpriced on his asking price and will be lucky to get $5k.

Here in Dallas the car would bring about 4500-7500 without turbo. And the turbo might hurt the sale. Everyone knows it has be hottrodded.
